  • Royal Paulownia Leaves<br /> <br /> These trees spring up everywhere in Atlanta. I've read they are so invasive that most people here are happy to "cultivate" Paulownia with Roundup! Although, the flowers are honestly quite fragrant.

  • Draw!<br /> <br /> Ellen's sketching skills improve. It was fun to see how she was doing the shading... smudging with her thumb and so forth. I don't think anyone has taught her. She tells me she just doodles and was recently pleased that she figured out 'noses'. While waiting for dinner tonight, she sketched this for us on the paper they had down on the table top.

So, Amy and I took comfort together at Slate Table & Tap in downtown Roswell.<br /> <br /> I will add that the photo is rotated 180deg. It was easier for me, while simultaneously holding the camera and glass, to have the light opposite me casting a shadow towards me.   • Nikon 1 J1 On Canon 5D Mark II<br /> <br /> Ellen's new toy... hardly. This compact system camera almost costs what my Canon 20D did 9 year ago. And the capabilities are staggering by comparison. A favorite of ours is the high speed video. We shot water falling into a glass at 400 frames per second.   • Sunrise<br /> <br /> This morning I went over to check the lock on the front door before leaving for work. Again, the sunrise was there streaming in through the beveled glass. Here's the pattern on the opposite wall.

  • Bride & Groom<br /> <br /> These Champagne flutes have been in our china cabinet. They almost never come out. The other day, I saw them in a sunbeam scattering light in all colors. If only I could get them to look like that in a flash.
  • Where Is Everyone?<br /> <br /> Our last Lacrosse game was rained out this evening. I think the senior girls were pretty sad about that. It was, however, for the best. On the way there, I drove through a torrent with sporadic lightning. And the field had standing water. <br /> <br /> He was the only one who showed up to watch...
